Mansfield Triathlon

We have decided to bring this event forward, making it the launch event of the 2009 Saucony Sprint Triathlon Series!

Most people would consider Mansfield to be famous for a number of reasons, mainly being the home of Sherwood Forest with Robin Hood and his band of merry men. Maybe a few might remember that over 20 years ago, the European Team Triathlon Championships were held at the same leisure centre where we now base our event from. Twenty years ago, the event started with a bike, followed by the swim then finishing with the run. Believe it or not, the course has not changed much over the twenty years.

We believe that this is our fastest event of the year, a quick splash up and down the pool, followed by a truly speedy bike around the stunning Sherwood Forest country side, on what can honestly be described as 'perfect biking roads'. The run, maybe not so smooth but again is certainly fast, it could be due to the closed roads that we use or it could be that somehow it's a downhill course.

This is a great event to kick off the season with, or it could be that you are looking for a gentle introduction into triathlon - well look no further; you've just found it!
